DESIGN has to be the most important part of any heating system as no matter how good the installers a poorly designed system will never work effectively. Here a GSG Surrey we take an overall view of the property taking into account the occupants. Things to consider are the original build and age of the property, it’s thermal insulation, improvements/ extensions that have been added over the years and the lifestyle of the occupants. Then looking at what each technology has to offer with regards installation cost, running cost compared with existing cost and any grants available. We are happy to discuss the various options along with their advantages and disadvantages as no solution fits all and due to our experience in all types of heating and can even advise on items we don’t sell such as loft insulation, double glazing, cavity wall insulation and even keeping your existing system whilst waiting for the next advances in renewable heating. We also design and install hybrid or link up systems where we add to the existing heating system. Site surveys and heat loss calculations are conducted by our own experienced installers as we do not employ sales staff who can be more concerned about targets than the suitability of a product.

INSTALLATION is what we love to do and all our staff take pride in a job well done. Everyone at GSG Surrey is passionate about their work with many year’s practical experience along with constant upgrading of skills and knowledge whenever possible. As with designing the system, we do all the work ourselves ensuring a happy customer. No job is sub-contracted out. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING is very important and one of our favourite parts of the job – getting to see old customers. As we are a local company with years of experience so it’s always nice to see how our customers are getting along with their heating system and evaluating our performance estimates. Not only is a regular service required by guarantees and insurance (and government incentives) but it’s important to have an efficient system and can often prevent costly repairs. We cover all aspects of our work from chimney sweeps, woodburners, pellet stoves, biomass boilers, solar thermal, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, under floor heating and hot water cylinders.

Chimney Sweep A good chimney is essential to the continuing efficient and safe operation of all solid fuel burning heating and cooking appliances. HETAS recommends that chimney sweeping is best carried out by a HETAS Approved Chimney Sweep at least once a year.

All HETAS approved sweeps are registered members of one of three chimney sweep trade associations and have attended a HETAS training course.

Our chimney sweep engineers are trained to diagnose and repair hazards along with maintenance such as removal of flammable creosote, firebox and damper repair, and smoke chamber repair. Some sweeps also offer more complicated repairs such as flue repair and relining, crown repair, and tuck pointing or rebuilding of masonry chimneys.

HETAS recommend that you sweep your chimney and service your stove yearly to ensure your heating systems are running efficiently. Having a professional service on your stove and chimney will increase the safety of your home and give you peace of mind to enjoy your stove.
